Jessika Leal

Jessika Leal is a seasoned communications leader with more than 30 years of experience in public relations, community outreach, and media relations. Known for her ability to connect audiences through compelling storytelling and strategic marketing, she currently serves as President of JLeal Communications. In this role, she specializes in developing engaging written and digital content, producing high-quality video, crafting impactful media pitches, and managing social media campaigns for businesses and nonprofits.

Jessika’s diverse career spans television, radio, public education, and municipal government. She has held key positions including Community Outreach Liaison for the City of Houston Office of the City Controller and Community Marketing Development Coordinator for KHOU-TV. Her background in broadcasting provides her with a unique ability to blend media strategy with authentic community engagement.

Over the years, Jessika has secured both local and national media coverage for a wide range of clients. She served as Public Relations Coordinator for the George Strait Music Festival and has led marketing initiatives for major brands such as AT&T, Starbucks, and Houston’s Downtown District. She has also played a pivotal role in large-scale community initiatives including KHOU-TV’s Annual Blood Drive, the station’s partnership with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and the Houston Annual Thanksgiving Day Parade live broadcast.

Her creative expertise extends to full-scale production projects for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and Alief Independent School District.

In addition to her behind-the-scenes leadership, Jessika is also an accomplished broadcast professional. She has worked with the syndicated Brian McKnight Show, delivering news and traffic to Houston audiences, and has hosted her own radio shows in both Tejano and country formats. Her on-camera experience includes hosting her own program on the NOW Media Network.

A proud native Houstonian, Jessika has been married to her husband, Joe, for 34 years. Together, they have three children and five grandchildren. Her passion for the community extends beyond her professional work, with decades of volunteer service in youth sports and public-school advocacy.
